Sandy has taught private piano for over 30 years, and Kindermusik for over 12 years. Her educational background is in early childhood. She & her husband, Charles, were licensed foster parents and fostered over 30 infants. They are the proud parents of 7 adopted children ranging in age from 10 to 30 years, and grandparents to 2 adorable grandsons. Their life purpose statement reflects our goals personally and professionally – to minister to children. |

Kristin has been with A Child’s Song for over 10 years and teaches Piano, Aussieroo and Kindermusik. Her background is in early childhood development and has seen first hand the benefits of music and movement and it’s effects on the brain as well as the bonding that takes place between caregiver and child. Both Kristin and Sandy were recognized by Kindermusik International for their work with special needs children. Kristin began playing piano at the age of four and studied under Carolyn and Bernard Shaak and Sandy Taylor. She loves to see the joy and sense of accomplishment when a student masters a new skill. She would like each family to be brought closer together through exploring music. In addition to teaching she also enjoys chasing after her two boys, Luca and Gian. Her family enjoys going to the mountains and exploring around town. |

Leslie has been involved in music since age 8 when she began playing the Clarinet and singing in choir. She added Alto Saxophone and played both in numerous concert bands and jazz ensembles throughout her secondary education and into college. At age 15 Leslie auditioned and was accepted as the only member to represent Colorado in the United States Collegiate Wind Band where 52 students performed throughout Europe for 6 weeks. She has taught lessons as a way to advance and encourage younger students. She has directed church children’s choir and handchime choir. |

Anne Silvas, a native Coloradoan, is passionate about the violin. She has studied for 36 years and taught for nearly 30 years. She is a graduate of Colorado State University holding a degree in Music Therapy. Anne was one of the first members of the Denver Young Artist Orchestra and has also performed with the Fort Collins Symphony, the Black Hills Symphony, the Niwot Timberline Symphony Orchestra and currently performs with the Metro State College Orchestra. Anne strives to inspire her students not only to be great musicians, but to be great encouragers of others as well. Anne was recently married and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, cooking, cycling and hiking. She loves pampering her two cats – “TC” and Little Girl. |

I have been involved in music most of my life. At the age of 6 I began accordion lessons, and singing in school choirs. I started teaching accordion lessons at age 16 and decided to study music in college. I received my Bachelor’s in Music Education from Colorado State University in Voice. Since then I have taught elementary music in the public schools, sung in church choirs, have directed children’s choirs in my church, have given private piano lessons, and played in and currently am directing the Handbell Choir at my church. Music has brought me many blessings in my life, and it is my joy to teach others so they can experience the joy & blessings too. |

Originally from Indonesia, Dhita started studying music at the age of 7. She studied under Yamaha Music Education System, learning Electone. A few years later she started piano. Since then she has always wanted to be a music teacher. After reaching the Teacher’s Grade under the Yamaha System, she started to give lessons at home in 1997.Dhita has participated in several annual Yamaha Electone Festivals and won several awards. In 1998 Dhita was appointed to represent Indonesia in the 1998 International Youth Chorus Festival in Osaka, Japan as the Indonesian Team’s Pianist. She worked with the Yamaha Music School for 4 years before coming to the US to pursue her Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering. When she returned to Indonesia two years later she resumed her music lessons and teaching activities.After getting married she followed her husband to Colorado and joined A Child’s Song in April 2012. She enjoys working with the students and sharing the joy of music with them. |

Alex has been drumming for a 10 years, now. He has a wide range of experience with percussion instruments, from concert percussion, to world percussion, and his primary focus drum set. Alex has won awards for his solo drum set performances, including one from the RMPA. Along with solo competitions, Alex has years of experience playing in Denver’s local music scene, playing places including the Marquis Theater, Summit Music Hall and The Blue Bird Theater. Outside of A Child’s Song he also attends Metro State University. |

Adriane has been singing for over twenty years and playing piano for seven years. She realized that her passion for music was more than just a hobby when she began teaching at the age of 14. Adriane has a bachelors of science degree in music industry studies, with an emphasis on business from the University of Colorado Denver as well as her Kindermusik License. Music is her life and she is excited to be able to share her musical knowledge with people of all ages. | |
